Clients are asking me, ‘Is now a good time to get into real estate?’ My answer: ‘Absolutely!’ And here are a few reasons why I believe that to be true!
1. The $8000 Homebuyer Tax Credit for new buyers has been extended until April 30, 2010.
a. (This does not have to be paid back!)
2. Current Homeowners are now eligible to receive a credit toward the purchase of a home!
a. ($6500 for married, $3250 for singles.) Need a larger home?
3. Mortgage Interest rates are at an all time low (averaging around 5.15%) If the economy really picks up steam, rates could rise as high as 6.5% in 2010.
a. What does that mean to you? Example: The home that you could afford at the 5.5% interest rate could be $174,000, however at a 6% interest rate; the amount you would now qualify for would be lowered to $159,000.
4. Why rent and pay someone else’s mortgage, when you can get $8000 from the government for FREE, get a low 30 year fixed interest rate, and tax deductions, by owning your own property!
Sadly, foreclosures are still at an all time high. There are options however, if you have friends or family, that needs help, I am a CDPE: Certified Distressed Property Expert and many people do not realize that they may have alternatives to avoid a foreclosure.
